There was great excitement in Barna on Thursday May 23rd as Uachtarán Cumann Lúthcleas Gael Liam O’Neill made a surprise visit to our school. Mr. O’Neill was traveling to Barna to visit Danny Beary’s GAA museum and this visit coincided with after-school hurling training in Barna.
Mr. O’Neill was happy to meet pupils and parents as well as pose for photographs. He also took time to praise the children for taking part in Gaelic Games.
Another aspect of the GAA President’s presence in Limerick was to promote the upcoming Féile na nGael which will take place in Limerick in July. Earlier in the week, our school received a visit from Féile na nGael representatives who presented the school with training kit to help build up towards the event.
